Turning Interest into Action
Founded in 2000, SmålandsKatten has made tremendous impact thanks to the help of members and volunteers in the Ljungby, Älmhult, and Markaryd community. At SmålandsKatten, we aim to reduce the homeless cat population in Kronoberg county. Mainly in and around Ljungby, Älmhult, and Markaryd. We are affiliated with Kattkommando Syd in Skåne and partner with our KKS friends in times of need.
We aim to educate owners and future owners of the responsibility and cost of cat care, and the laws. As a part of Kattkommado Syd (KKS) we are a no kill rescue. This means that any cat we rescue must get care from a veterinarian first before a decision can be made to euthanise.
We rely on the kindness of our donors to keep Smålandskatten running and helping as many cats as possible. We accept donations at any time and thank you for your generosity.
